The Deep-C project
The Deep-C project aims to remove the barriers to our knowledge of the environmental, biological and socio-economic parameters and processes that control carbon fate in water bodies, a key component of the land-coastal zone continuum whose role in the C cycle is still poorly characterized.
Main objective: Understanding and modeling the role of lentic water in the C cycle and climate system
Q1: Variations in export & transfers of C from land
Q2: Impacts on C storage in lentic waters
Q3: Impacts on CO2 & CH4 emissions
Q4: Control factors (Abiotic, Biotic, Context,
Role of eutrophication, land uses & climate change)
